As any Food Network fan surely knows, Sunny was a contestant on Chopped All-Stars Season 3. She was competing for the grand prize of $50,000 for the charity of her choice. Sunny selected N Street Village, a community of empowerment and recovery for homeless and low-income women in Washington, D.C.
Sunny made it past Round 1, beating out fellow contestants Nadia G., Gabriele Corco and Jeff Mauro with her mastery of the competition’s mystery baskets. Read Sunny’s interview after Round 1 here.
Sunny advanced to the final round, competing against Laila Ali, Gavin Kaysen and Scott Conant. She didn’t fair as well in this round, in fact she sliced open her finger which made her lose valuable time and was eliminated in the first round. Scott Conant went on to win.
The charity that Sunny was competing for, N Street Village, has been a powerful force in helping women achieve personal stability and make gains in their housing, income, employment, mental health, physical health, and addiction recovery since 1972.
